Eintracht Frankfurt logo history — the eagle of Frankfurt
The eagle has been at the heart of Frankfurt's identity for most of the club's history. It's why the team are called Die Adler, the Eagles.
The club traces its founding to 8 March 1899. After a series of mergers, it took the name Eintracht, which means "unity". Its official name is Frankfurter Sportgemeinde Eintracht, which is where the short form SGE comes from.
Frankfurt's badge is based on the coat of arms of the city of Frankfurt, which has an eagle at its centre. Over the decades, the club has drawn its eagle in several different ways.
In 1977, the club presented a new eagle crest that went on the shirts from the early 1980s until the late 1990s. It's the badge of the 1980 UEFA Cup win and the 1981 and 1988 DFB-Pokal wins, and it returns on the 2026/27 away kit.
At the end of the 1990s, Frankfurt moved to the eagle crest used on the home and third kits today, the badge of the 2018 DFB-Pokal and the 2022 Europa League. It's the version on this page.
What does the Eintracht Frankfurt logo mean?
The eagle comes from the coat of arms of the city of Frankfurt, so the badge links the club directly to its city. It gives the team the nickname Die Adler, the Eagles. Since 2006, a real eagle called Attila has flown around the stadium before home games. The club's colours are red, black and white.
Eintracht Frankfurt kit history — red, black and white
Frankfurt's home shirts usually mix red and black, often in stripes, while white is the traditional away colour. White has a special place in the club's history. Frankfurt wore white when they became German champions in 1959, in several DFB-Pokal wins, and in the 2022 Europa League final in Seville. That's why the 2026/27 away kit is built around white and the retro eagle.
Nike made Frankfurt's kits for over a decade before adidas took over from the 2025/26 season. The 2026/27 collection is adidas's second for the club.

Eintracht Frankfurt DLS logo and kit size requirements
DLS needs logos and kits as 512x512 PNG files. The eagle's feathers are fine details that blur below 512x512. The home kit's thin, layered stripes are even harder, because they turn into a muddy red-black mix at low resolution. A transparent background stops a white box from appearing around the crest.
